A Paradise of Books

Jorge Luis Borges once said that he had always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of a library. And on entering the magnificent hallls of the Mediterranean Conference Centre, that is exactly how it looked like.

On the 9th of November  students of St.Patrick’s School visited this paradise of books organized by the National Book Council.  Thousands of books thronged the rooms - books of all genres and age, impossible not to stimulate one’s imagination.

The students spent an entire morning going from one activity to another, visiting the stalls and rummaging through the books.

The National Book Council also donated a Eur 3.00 voucher  to all students to be used on books.  It was so beautiful and encouraging to see all the boys leaving the hall with a book or two as, as Marcus Cicero puts it ‘a room without books is like a body without a soul.’
