Celebrations of Mary Help of Christians at St. Patrick's School

The feast of Mary Help of Christians can’t pass unnoticed here at St. Patrick’s.  Don Bosco had a special reverence to the blessed virgin and made Mary help of Christians the patroness of the Salesians.  To mark this special day, the students at St. Patrick’s were given a day off from the normal routine and instead of books and homework, they spent a leisurely day in the countryside at Mellieha away from the hustle and bustle of Sliema.

The celebrations continued on the following day with the Sports Day.  This event marked also the end of all sports activities of the year.  Sport has always been given great importance at our school and this year was no exception.  This year’s Sports day was even more special as it was held at our sister school in Dingli:  Savio College.

With its tranquil surroundings, its immense football ground and professional tracks, our sports day was a memorable one. Races over, they all gathered around the table gleaming with medals and trophies waiting for Sir Dominic to call the winners.  To our joy, all the boys managed to win a medal or trophy, thus taking home something to mark the memories of a memorable day.
