Assessment Assessment in St Patrick’s is continuous and is both formative and summative. Most, if not all of the classwork, homework and tests done by students, contribute to the final grade a student gets in each subject. There are two formal assessments in the scholastic year. At the end of the first semester, i.e. September to February there are the Mid Yearly Tests which form part of the Continuous Assessment. At the end of the second semester (and of the scholastic year) there is the Annual Exam. The following diagram explains this.
