Admissions EN

Secondary School Certificate and Profiling At the end of Year 11, students are given a National Secondary School Certificate and Profiling (SSC&P). The SSC&P has three levels: Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 recognized by the Malta Qualifications Framework (MQF) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF). However, if a student does not qualify for a SSC&P of Level 1 or 2 or 3, he will be awarded a certificate which does not carry a level and which will only indicate that he has finished his secondary education course. The established criteria for a student to be awarded an SSC&P of Level 1 or 2 or 3 are as follows: • Formal Education (deals with academic results). • Non-formal Education (deals with activities organized by the school and held during or after school hours). • Informal Education (deals with activities held outside school and not organized directly by the school). Besides this, another School Leaving Certificate is issued by the Accreditation Unit within the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation, which is valid for further education, like MCAST. Textbooks & Teachers’ Notes Textbooks can be bought from any bookshop parents/guardians prefer. Parents/guardians receive the booklist and all the information needed. Notes prepared by the school will be paid and distributed during the first week of school. Transport Free School Transport is provided by the Ministry for Education, Sport, Youth, Research and Innovation. All parents/legal guardians requiring the Free Transport service for their children will be asked to apply online when applications are open.
