A Special Day in October

St. Patrick’s School recently celebrated the legacy of Dun Karm Psaila, Malta’s national poet, by reading text about the poet, and some of his works. Then, the students and staff together, sang the Maltese National Anthem, honouring his profound contribution to the nation’s culture and identity. During the National Anthem, Mr Dominic Darmanin played the trombone, while Fr Jeremy Vella sub played the clarinet and Ms Maryann Bartolo accompanied him with her vocals.

The celebration continued with a focus on health, as students and staff participated in an invigorating hour of physical exercises, promoting the importance of fitness and well-being. These exercises were organised by Ms Rosalie Borg. At the end of the session Ms Rosalie Borg spoke about her commitment and determination as an athlete and encouraged our students to pursue their dreams. A heartfelt thanks goes to Mr Alessio Magro, our P.E. teacher for the sterling organisation.

Awareness was raised among our students on the reality of the active involvement of the Church in the Missions – to make the session relevant for youngsters, Ms Nancy and Fr Sean from Missio Malta discussed the opportunities to be found in the diversities in our country while helping students become more grateful for the gifts they receive every day. This was followed by a healthy breakfast for all staff and students which enjoyed each other’s company.
