Celebrating the Spirit of Christmas at St. Patrick’s Salesian School
At St. Patrick’s Salesian School in Sliema, the festive season kicked off on December 6th with a meaningful mass celebrating the Immaculate Conception. This significant day not only marks an important event in the Catholic calendar but also commemorates the first meeting between Don Bosco and his first student, Bartolomeo Garelli.
The celebration continued with the cherished annual procession featuring Baby Jesus, culminating with the lighting of our beautiful Christmas Tree. This event truly set the tone for the holiday spirit among students and staff alike. Present for the Mass and the Procession was H.E. Marie Louise Coleiro Preca, who shared her joy at being present with this community for such a celebration.
Each class were then engaged in hands-on activities to prepare delicious mince pies, which were then sold as part of our fundraising efforts. This initiative not only allowed students to learn valuable skills but also fostered a sense of altruism.
The day ended with several sports activities which all present enjoyed. This final activity was a full of fun and left all presents with high spirits.
As we approached the end of Term 1, on December 20th, our final day before the Christmas break began with a lovely celebration of the Eucharist. This included a heartfelt ‘Priedka’ delivered by one of our students, perfectly paired with a sweet pageant that showcased the true essence of the season.
The festivities continued with our Yearly Christmas Concert, organized by each class. This hour-long event was a delightful showcase of talent, where students mesmerized the audience of families, staff, and friends with their performances. There was an incredible atmosphere during this event.
To cap off the celebrations, we held a lively Christmas Party. With games, food, and drinks, it was the perfect way to conclude a wonderful term and spread the festive cheer among everyone present.
