Back to School: A New Chapter Begins
As summer drew to an end, a sense of anticipation filled the air. The sights and sounds of a new school year are upon us, replete with the excitement of new beginnings, the promise of learning, and the rekindling of friendships. It is that time of the year when students gather to embark on yet another educational journey, ready to dive into academic subjects, explore their interests, and discover more about themselves.
The beginning of the school year is marked by a traditional assembly, a moment to bring the entire student body together. This gathering serves as a reminder of the community we belong to as we meet in the school yard. Fr. Jeremy Vella sdb, the headmaster, along with other staff members, addressed the students warmly, reiterating the values of respect, hard work, and diligence. It is an energizing moment, as students reconnect with friends and meet new faces.
Following the assembly, the students gathered for a session with their form teachers. This gathering is crucial; it allows students to get to know their teachers better, understand classroom expectations, and learn about the subjects they will explore throughout the academic year.
After the sessions with form teachers, the school community comes together for Mass. This moment serves as a time for reflection and gratitude. Students and school staff unite in the spirit of spirituality and unity, seeking blessings for the year ahead. It was a beautiful Mass celebrated by the new Rector, Fr. Antoine Farrugia sdb.
As the formalities concluded, school resumed its regular pace. The students had their respective lessons as per timetable, where they met their teachers and learning support educators in class, to introduce their subject for the coming year.
